What I check
Furnace: ignition and burners, the flame sensor, the inducer and blower motors, safety switches, venting, the filter and the thermostat.
Air conditioner: refrigerant pressures, capacitors and contactors, the indoor and outdoor coils, airflow, and the condensate drain.
You get a straight report on what I find and what, if anything, actually needs attention.
Why I don't do $49 tune-ups
No legitimate company can send a qualified technician to your home for $49 and cover the drive, the truck and the insurance. The money has to come from upsells, so there's pressure to find something to sell on every visit. That's not how I work. I charge a fair, transparent price for a real inspection.
What you can do yourself
- Check your filter every 30 days. Our dry, dusty climate loads filters faster than the package says.
- Clear cottonwood and debris off the outdoor unit every spring.
- Keep plants and storage a couple of feet away from the outdoor unit.
- Don't close vents in unused rooms. It hurts airflow and can freeze the AC coil.
Areas I serve
Based in Farr West, I serve homes and businesses in Farr West, Ogden, Layton, Kaysville, Roy, Hooper, West Haven, North Ogden, Plain City, Clearfield, Syracuse, Brigham City, plus Pleasant View, Harrisville, Riverdale and Perry. Bigger jobs can take me farther across northern Utah, so call if you're outside that list.
Common questions
How often should I get a tune-up?
Many homeowners have the furnace checked in the fall and the AC in the spring. If your system is newer, running well and you change filters regularly, you don't need to pay for one every season.
Do you offer maintenance for businesses?
Yes. I maintain systems for small offices and commercial spaces as well as homes.
